Photobiomodulation(PBM) is a subset or form of phototherapy that utilizes polarized and non-ionizing forms of light sources including low-level laser light, LEDs and SLDs, in the visible and near infrared wavelength spectrum for non-traumatic and non-thermal therapeutic applications. Based on the specialist’s diagnosis, the light is prescribed for a specified period of time and during several treatment sessions.
SmartLux Mini
Smartlux Mini is an FDA Class II cleared SLD phototherapy device that promotes healthy, rejuvenated skin by combining low-powered and infrared wavelengths. SmartLux Mini adopts medical SLD (Super-Luminous Diodes) to generate high intensity for better clinical benefits.
The early light-emitting diodes(LEDs) were unsuitable for clinical applications because of low unstable output powers, broad wavebands and very high angles of divergence. Nowadays SLD phototherapy devices are developed with much higher output powers, a much narrower divergence and quasimonochromatic output that can bring them much higher therapeutic popularity and significant improvements can be seen even after two sessions.
SmartLux Mini is a class 2 medical combination stimulator used by a combination of low-power light irradiator and infrared irradiator. When electrical energy is applied, the light is absorbed into the cell through visible light LED lamps with 635nm (RED), 420nm (BLUE), and 585nm (YELLOW) wavelengths, and IR (IR) lamps with 830nm (IR) wavelengths.
